It combines generous cherry character with a soft, rounded texture and subtle vanilla notes from oak maturation, offering an accessible style with an elegant finish.

Tasting Notes
Bright ruby in appearance, this Pinot Noir opens with inviting aromas of ripe red fruit, particularly cherry, complemented by delicate vanilla and gentle oak notes. The palate is full-bodied yet smooth and supple, with abundant cherry flavour, balanced structure and a long, intense finish. Approachable in its youth, the 2023 vintage is well suited to drinking now and over the next few years. Its soft texture and fruit-driven profile make it especially enjoyable without extended cellaring.

Production
The grapes are sourced from McManis Family Vineyards’ vineyards in and around California’s San Joaquin Valley, where carefully selected rootstocks and clones are matched to the local soils and growing conditions. Leaf removal and cluster thinning help concentrate the fruit, while the wine is fermented in stainless-steel tanks for 6–9 days before being transferred to another vessel to complete fermentation. It undergoes both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, then matures for six months in a combination of new and used French and American oak. McManis also uses its own process to introduce oak character during production.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 14–16°C. This versatile Pinot Noir pairs well with roast chicken, pork tenderloin, duck, mushroom dishes, grilled salmon and mild, creamy cheeses. Decanting is not essential, but a brief 20–30 minute airing can help open the fruit and soften the wine further.

McManis Family Vineyards was founded in 1990, building on five generations of the McManis family’s experience growing grapes in California. Today, the family farms approximately 2,700 hectares of premium vineyards across ten properties in key areas around the San Joaquin Valley. The winery is particularly noted for its sustainable approach and has achieved Green Winery certification across its vineyards, while applying meticulous vineyard practices often associated with smaller, artisanal domaines despite its considerable scale.
