Description

The Maximin Grünhäuser Rose Sekt Grande Reserve 2013 is an elegant dry sparkling wine from the Mosel, crafted from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Produced by the respected von Schubert estate, it combines finesse, freshness, and depth in a style that reflects one of Germany’s most distinguished sparkling traditions.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, luminous rosé colour with fine, lively bubbles. The nose is fragrant and inviting, with notes of strawberries, raspberries, and a subtle mineral lift that reflects its Mosel origin. On the palate, it is fresh and generously textured, with crisp acidity giving energy and balance to its fruit-driven profile. The finish is long and refined, making this Grande Reserve a sparkling wine with both charm and structure. It should also develop added complexity with a little more time in bottle.

Production
This Sekt comes from carefully selected grapes grown in the Mosel, a region renowned for its steep slopes, cool climate, and slate-rich soils. Those conditions help preserve freshness and aromatic precision while giving the wine its distinctive elegance. The blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is vinified to highlight purity, finesse, and a finely detailed mousse.

Food & Serving
An excellent aperitif, this rosé Sekt also pairs beautifully with fish dishes, poultry, shellfish, and light canapés. Serve well chilled at around 6–8°C to show its freshness and precision. Decanting is not necessary; simply open and enjoy in tulip-shaped sparkling glasses or white wine glasses for the best expression.

Producer
Maximin Grünhäuser, part of the von Schubert family estate, is one of the Mosel’s most respected names, known primarily for its benchmark still wines and its commitment to precision viticulture. The estate has built a strong reputation for quality and authenticity, and its sparkling wines carry the same attention to detail and regional character. The Grande Reserve cuvées reflect the producer’s expertise and longstanding standing in German fine wine.
