Tasting Notes
Expect a pale, luminous colour with a delicate sheen. On the nose, this Auslese typically offers a refined mix of white peach, citrus zest, apricot, and floral notes, underpinned by slate-driven minerality and a cool, elegant perfume. The palate is concentrated yet graceful, balancing ripe stone fruit and honeyed sweetness with vibrant acidity and a long, saline finish. It should age beautifully, developing greater complexity, petrol notes, and layered dried fruit character over many years.

Production
Abtsberg is one of the great steep slopes of the Mosel, with slate-rich soils and a cool climate that help preserve freshness while allowing slow ripening. The vineyard’s exposure and terroir are ideally suited to Riesling, producing wines of both purity and depth. Auslese selection is made from especially ripe bunches, usually harvested by hand, with careful sorting to ensure the precision and concentration expected from this category.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at around 8–10°C. This wine is excellent with blue cheese, fruit-forward desserts, tarte Tatin, or foie gras, and can also be striking with spicy Asian cuisine or salty-sweet dishes. Decanting is generally not necessary, though a brief period in the glass can help open its aromatic detail.
