Tasting Notes
Pale pink in the glass, this rosé opens with lively aromas of fresh red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, lifted by subtle floral notes. On the palate it is crisp, vibrant, and well-defined, with a pleasantly structured texture that gives the wine more depth than a light summer rosé. Its freshness and fruit purity make it immediately appealing, while the bright acidity suggests it is best enjoyed young to capture its energetic style. The wine is made for early drinking rather than long aging, when its fruit-forward character is at its most expressive.

Production
The vineyards for Cuatro Pasos are located in the Bierzo Valley, where vines grow alongside native vegetation and are naturally sheltered from the harshest direct sunlight, helping Mencía retain freshness. Martin Codax carefully selects plots from the valley’s earliest harvested vineyards to maintain the clean, intense style that defines the range. On arrival at the winery, the grapes are directly pressed for gentle color extraction, followed by cool fermentation at 18°C to preserve the wine’s fruity and floral aromas.

Food & Serving
Serve this rosé well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, with finger food, fresh salads, or grilled and roasted shellfish such as gambas. Decanting is not necessary; simply pour and enjoy its crisp, aromatic style.
