Marqués del Hueco Reserva Cosecha 2012 is a classic Rioja Reserva with real family heritage behind it, crafted for over 100 years and made in the elegant, age-worthy style that defines the region. Built around 90% Tempranillo with small additions of Mazuelo and Graciano, it combines tradition, precision, and impressive depth.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the polished, mature character you’d expect from a well-made Rioja Reserva. The nose opens with ripe cherries and plums, lifted by subtle vanilla from oak and a faint earthy, terroir-driven note that adds complexity. On the palate, the wine is shaped by generous ripe fruit, layered with hints of leather, liquorice, and vanilla. The texture is smooth and silky, finishing with elegance and persistence. It can be enjoyed now, but it also has the structure and balance to age gracefully for at least another 15 years.

Production
Sourced from Rioja vineyards and harvested by hand, the grapes were carefully sorted before vinification to ensure only the best fruit made it into the wine. The blend of Tempranillo, Mazuelo, and Graciano reflects a traditional Rioja formula, and the wine spent 18 months in barrels, gaining refinement, spice, and classic Reserva complexity.

Food & Serving
This Reserva is a natural match for roasted lamb, slow-cooked beef, game, grilled pork, and mature hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if drinking now to let the wine fully open up.
