Description
Marchese Antinori Tenuta Tignanello Chianti Classico Riserva Magnum is a polished expression of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most celebrated names. Offered here in magnum format, it combines concentration, elegance, and cellar appeal, while carrying the prestige of the Antinori family’s centuries-long contribution to Italian wine. Historically, Tignanello is one of the landmark estates that helped redefine modern Tuscan winemaking.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Riserva shows a deep ruby color with lively garnet reflections. The bouquet is generous and layered, opening with morello cherry, violet, and lavender, then unfolding into spicier notes of tobacco and leather, with subtle hints of vanilla and cocoa from its élevage.
On the palate, it is vibrant and finely structured, with the bright cherry-driven character of Sangiovese supported by firm yet polished tannins and fresh, mouthwatering acidity. The finish is long, savory, and nuanced, suggesting excellent aging potential; in magnum, it will develop especially gracefully over time.
Production
Produced in Tuscany’s Chianti Classico zone, this wine reflects the region’s combination of sun-drenched hillsides, good drainage, and significant day-to-night temperature shifts that help preserve freshness and aromatic precision. The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure optimal selection, then vinified with careful temperature control to protect the purity of the fruit and the finesse of Sangiovese. Aging in oak adds complexity, texture, and those subtle notes of spice, vanilla, and cocoa.
Food & Serving
This Chianti Classico Riserva is a natural match for Tuscan dishes such as bistecca alla fiorentina, roast lamb, game, braised beef, and pasta with rich ragù. It also pairs beautifully with aged pecorino and mushroom-based dishes. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 hour if enjoying young to allow the aromas and structure to खुलly open.
