Malescot Saint Exupéry 2017 is a beautifully composed Margaux from one of the appellation’s most respected Third Growth estates. Known for its refined style, it combines classic Bordeaux structure with the perfume, finesse, and elegance that define top wines from Margaux.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby color with bright violet reflections. The nose is expressive and layered, offering ripe blackcurrant, plum, violet, cedar, and subtle spice, with a graceful floral lift that is very much in line with Margaux character. On the palate, the wine is supple yet structured, with polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a core of dark berry fruit wrapped in notes of graphite, tobacco, and toasted oak. The finish is long and poised, suggesting excellent development over time. While approachable in youth with proper aeration, it should continue to evolve beautifully over the next 10–15 years, gaining more complexity and silkiness.

Production
Malescot Saint Exupéry comes from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux, where gravelly soils provide excellent drainage and help promote concentration and finesse. The estate’s vineyards benefit from a classic Left Bank terroir, ideally suited to Cabernet Sauvignon-led blends, often complemented by Merlot and smaller amounts of other Bordeaux varieties. Harvesting is typically carried out with careful parcel selection to preserve ripeness and precision, followed by traditional Bordeaux vinification and maturation in oak to bring structure, depth, and aromatic complexity.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs especially well with roast lamb, grilled entrecôte, duck breast, venison, and rich mushroom dishes. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to fully open up.
