On the palate, it is usually medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins, ripe fruit, and a lively mineral frame that gives the wine poise and length. The finish is elegant and composed, suggesting good ageing potential over the next 8 to 15 years, depending on storage conditions.

Production
Malartic-Lagravière’s vineyards are planted on the gravelly soils that give Graves its name, with excellent drainage and a terroir well suited to producing structured, aromatic Bordeaux blends. The estate is known for careful vineyard management and precise harvesting, aiming to pick each parcel at optimal ripeness. Vinification is carried out with a focus on preserving fruit purity and terroir expression, followed by élevage in oak barrels to add depth, texture, and complexity without overpowering the wine’s natural balance.

This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, and mushroom-based dishes. It also works well with hard cheeses such as Comté or aged Manchego. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic range.
