Description

Maison Olivier Chanzy’s Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières 2017 is a striking example of why this site is regarded as one of the most prestigious Premier Cru vineyards in Meursault. With the depth and mineral precision that make Perrières so admired, it delivers a level of finesse and complexity often associated with Grand Cru wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the rich, luminous character typical of fine Meursault, with aromas of ripe yellow fruit, lime, honey, toasted hazelnuts, and subtle buttery nuances, lifted by a delicate hint of chamomile. With age, those primary fruit notes have begun to merge with more developed layers, adding a touch of spice and extra dimension. The palate is silky and generous, with impressive concentration balanced by fresh acidity that keeps the wine poised and energetic. The finish is long and elegant, marked by yellow plum, fine spice, and a refined mineral line. This is a wine with excellent aging potential, and its mature phase is already revealing impressive harmony and complexity.

Production
Sourced from the limestone-rich soils of Perrières, the wine reflects the vineyard’s cool, mineral-driven terroir and its reputation for producing precise, structured Chardonnay. The grapes are typically harvested with care to preserve freshness and clarity, and vinification is handled in a way that allows the site’s character to shine through, balancing richness with tension and purity.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for lobster, scallops, roast poultry, turbot, or creamy mushroom dishes, as well as aged Comté or other nutty hard cheeses. Serve at around 10–12°C, and decanting is recommended if the wine is still youthful or if you want to let its aromatic complexity open fully.

Producer
Maison Olivier Chanzy is a Burgundian producer known for crafting wines that highlight the nuance and personality of their appellations, particularly in the Côte de Beaune. With a focus on quality and expression of terroir, the house has earned recognition for producing elegant, site-driven wines that speak clearly of their origin.
