Macanita As Olgas Branco is a distinctive Douro white that showcases the character of very old vines and high-altitude vineyards in one elegant, terroir-driven wine. Produced by Maçanita Vinhos from a historic field blend in Carlão, it reflects both the complexity of the region and the depth that comes from low-yield, old-vine fruit.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright lemon-yellow color with a lively, polished appearance. The nose is fresh and mineral-led, with subtle creamy notes that add depth and sophistication. On the palate, the wine is dense and rich, yet lifted by vibrant acidity that keeps it balanced and precise. Its structure suggests good aging potential, allowing the mineral core and textural complexity to develop further over time.

Production
This wine comes from more than 90-year-old vineyards in Carlão, Cima Corgo, at around 480 meters above sea level, where the soils transition from schist to granite. The vines are a traditional field blend with 13 grape varieties, harvested by hand at very low yields. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed, then the must undergoes spontaneous fermentation in cask with bâtonnage, followed by 12 months of aging in neutral barrels.

Food & Serving
Serve this wine at 10–12°C. It pairs beautifully with baked fish, salt-baked fish, and spicy light meat dishes, and it also works very well with soft cheeses. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can help open its aromatic precision and creamy texture.
