Lucien Albrecht Riesling Réserve 2023 is a beautifully precise expression of Alsace Riesling, offering purity, freshness and classic regional character rather than sheer power. Sourced from the family’s historic vineyards around Orschwihr, it reflects more than 15 generations of winemaking tradition and the cool, balanced conditions of the 2023 vintage.

Tasting Notes
Bright and crystalline in the glass, this Riesling shows a pale straw color with a subtle green hue. The nose is lifted and expressive, with citrus, green apple and white flowers, followed by a delicate mineral edge reminiscent of wet stones and lemon zest. On the palate, it is dry, sleek and focused, with crisp acidity driving the wine through a long, clean finish. Hints of herbs and a touch of peach emerge with air, adding complexity to its linear structure. While already highly enjoyable for its freshness and clarity, it also has the balance to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Production
The grapes come from chalk- and marl-rich slopes around Orschwihr in southern Alsace, a terroir that gives the wine its tension, finesse and mineral backbone. The fruit is harvested carefully to preserve aromatic intensity and freshness, then vinified entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel. No malolactic fermentation is used, and the restrained residual sweetness helps maintain a dry, precise style with clean fruit and a firm structure.

Food & Serving
This is an exceptionally food-friendly Riesling that pairs well with shellfish, sushi, fresh salads, goat cheese and lightly seasoned fish dishes. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to highlight its citrusy lift and mineral drive. Decanting is not necessary, though a few minutes in the glass will help the aromatics open beautifully.
