Tasting Notes
Cristal 2014 shows a luminous, fine-textured profile with elegance at its core. The nose opens with ripe orchard fruit, citrus zest, white flowers, and subtle toasted and brioche nuances, followed by a distinctly chalky, mineral freshness that gives the wine remarkable lift. On the palate, it is layered and poised, combining the structure and red-fruit depth of Pinot Noir with the tension and finesse of Chardonnay. There is impressive concentration, a creamy mousse, and a long, precise finish marked by saline minerality and delicate roasted notes. Enjoyable now for its energy and complexity, it also has outstanding aging potential of more than 25 years, during which it will gain even greater nuance and depth.

Production
Cristal 2014 is sourced mainly from Grand Cru vineyards in Champagne, where Louis Roederer works with its best sites to capture the region’s finest expression of terroir. The 2014 vintage benefited from carefully selected grapes at optimal ripeness, and the final cuvée was blended from 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. After vinification, the wine spent seven years aging in the cellar, allowing it to develop its signature interplay of richness, mineral freshness, and refined complexity.

Food & Serving
Cristal 2014 is best served well chilled at around 8–10°C and does not require decanting. It pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as oysters, caviar, lobster, sashimi, scallops, or lightly prepared white fish, and it also works wonderfully with truffled poultry or delicate creamy sauces.
