Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a vivid ruby core with subtle brick and amber reflections that hint at its careful maturation. The nose is layered and refined, unfolding with vanilla, dried forest fruits, leather, earth, and gentle spice, while the palate brings a medium-bodied, dry, velvety texture lifted by lively citrus-driven acidity. Blackcurrant and raspberry add juicy depth, supported by firm yet fully integrated tannins. The finish is long and dynamic, leaving notes of cherry, violet, chocolate, and a refined touch of mandarin. This is a wine with excellent aging potential, capable of developing even greater complexity over the next decade and beyond.

Production
The Viña Tondonia vineyards lie in Rioja Alta, where limestone soils and a favorable microclimate help produce wines of precision, freshness, and length. Grapes are handled with great care, and fermentation takes place in oak vats with native yeasts, preserving the wine’s traditional character and site expression. After fermentation, the wine spends at least six years aging in American oak barrels, allowing it to develop tertiary aromas, polish its tannins, and build remarkable harmony and depth.

Food & Serving
This Reserva is an ideal partner for grilled or roasted red meat, lamb, richly seasoned pork dishes, and mature cheeses. Serve it at 18–20°C, and decant for around two hours before drinking to allow its aromas and structure to fully open.
