Livon Braide Alte Bianco 2022

Livon Braide Alte Bianco 2022 is one of the signature Grand Cru wines from Livon, crafted from the Braide Alte cru in Dolegna del Collio, in the Ruttars area of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Made from a distinctive blend of Chardonnay, Moscato Giallo, Picolit, and Sauvignon Blanc, it stands out for its intensity, finesse, and the pedigree of a vineyard site long admired for producing wines of exceptional quality.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an elegant, concentrated profile with a polished, luminous appearance. The nose is expressive and layered, with fragrant floral tones, ripe orchard fruit, citrus, and subtle aromatic complexity from the blend, all lifted by a refined mineral thread. On the palate, Braide Alte Bianco 2022 is soft, aromatic, and beautifully balanced, combining richness with freshness and precision. The texture is silky, the flavors are nuanced and persistent, and the wine finishes with a refined, lingering elegance. Thanks to its structure and careful élevage, it should age gracefully over the coming years, developing even greater depth and complexity.

Production
Braide Alte comes from a cru vineyard in the Collio landscape, where clay and marl soils, along with an ideal microclimate, help grapes reach outstanding ripeness and aromatic expression. The vines are trained using Guyot and spur-pruned cordon systems, and the grapes are harvested entirely by hand in small boxes to preserve quality. Vinification includes cold maceration in a horizontal press, followed by clarification and fermentation at a controlled temperature of 14-16°C in Allier barriques, then 8 months of barrel maturation before blending, bottling, and an additional period of bottle aging prior to release.

This is a refined white wine that pairs well with elegant dishes such as seafood, shellfish, lobster, risotto with herbs, roasted poultry, fine white meats, and creamy vegetarian preparations. Serve it cool, ideally around 10-12°C, and consider brief decanting if you want to open up its aromatic complexity, especially in its youth.
