Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a clear garnet-red hue with bright ruby reflections, a sign of youthful Barolo energy. The nose is layered and refined, with classic Nebbiolo notes of red cherry, rose petal, dried herbs, licorice and subtle spice, often underscored by earthy and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is structured and elegant, with firm but polished tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, focused finish. The wine’s balance and depth suggest excellent aging potential, and while it can be approached young with decanting, it will reward several years in bottle with greater harmony and complexity.

Production
Villero is a renowned vineyard site in the Barolo zone, known for its calcareous marl soils and excellent exposure, which help Nebbiolo achieve both power and finesse. The grapes are typically harvested by hand, with careful selection to preserve quality, followed by traditional vinification methods aimed at capturing the character of the site and vintage.

This Barolo pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as braised beef, game, truffle risotto, mushroom pasta and aged cheeses. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decant for at least 1-2 hours if drinking young to help the wine open up and soften its tannins.
