Les Beaux Jours, Laudun Couchant 2024 White

Les Beaux Jours Laudun Couchant 2024 is a fresh, finely balanced white wine from the AOC Laudun in France’s Rhône Valley. Made from grapes sourced from a single estate, it reflects the appellation’s distinctive stony limestone terroir, combining bright citrus character with subtle richness and aromatic finesse. As part of the Les Beaux Jours series—alongside Levant and Crépuscule—it showcases the unique identity of Laudun white wines.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a clear, pale golden-yellow colour. On the nose, it is fresh and expressive, with aromas of lemon, grapefruit, peach and apricot, complemented by a delicate floral note. Roussanne contributes a creamy texture and subtle spiced character, while Grenache adds an aromatic, floral lift. On the palate, lively freshness is balanced by gentle body and a smooth, rounded finish. Its combination of citrus energy, soft stone-fruit notes and understated creaminess makes it both elegant and versatile. Best enjoyed young, when its freshness and aromatic precision are at their most vivid, although it should develop additional softness over the short term.

Production
The grapes are sourced from a single property in the heart of the Laudun appellation, where stony limestone soils contribute freshness, finesse and mineral definition. The fruit is directly pressed after harvesting, followed by cold settling to clarify the must. Fermentation takes place at a low temperature, helping to preserve the wine’s delicate citrus, floral and stone-fruit aromas while maintaining its crisp, polished character.

Food & Serving
A versatile choice for grilled fish, shellfish, light poultry dishes and fresh salads. It also pairs beautifully with lighter pasta dishes and fresh cheeses. Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary, though allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass can help its floral and fruit aromas unfold.
