Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2015 Léoville Las Cases shows a deep, opaque ruby colour that hints at its concentration and pedigree. The nose is layered and expressive, with blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite and subtle floral notes, unfolding further with hints of tobacco, spice and crushed stones. The palate is powerful yet refined, with firm, polished tannins and vibrant acidity giving the wine impressive balance. Dark fruit, mineral tones and savoury complexity build across a long finish, suggesting excellent ageing potential; while already impressive, this is a wine that will reward patience and can develop beautifully over decades.

Production
Léoville Las Cases is located on the northern edge of Saint-Julien, bordering Pauillac, where the estate’s gravelly soils and excellent drainage help Cabernet Sauvignon thrive. Grapes are typically harvested parcel by parcel at optimal ripeness, with careful sorting to preserve quality, followed by traditional vinification and élevage in French oak to enhance structure, precision and aromatic complexity.

Food & Serving
This is a classic match for premium red meats, especially entrecôte, lamb, venison or beef fillet, as well as duck breast and rich mushroom-based dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for several hours if drinking young, to allow the wine to open and soften its tannins.
