Description

Leclerc Briant Extra Brut La Croisette 2015 is a refined vintage Champagne made from a distinguished single vineyard in the Côte des Blancs. With its low dosage and precise, terroir-driven style, it offers an elegant expression of Chardonnay with both freshness and depth. The 2015 vintage brings generous fruit alongside the mineral character associated with this renowned Champagne region.

Tasting Notes
Bright golden in appearance, with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose opens with aromas of ripe citrus, white flowers, orchard fruit and subtle toasted notes, followed by the chalky minerality typical of the Côte des Blancs. On the palate, the Champagne is dry and focused, combining lemon, green apple and pear with delicate pastry, almond and saline nuances. Its vibrant acidity provides balance and length, while bottle ageing adds texture and complexity. It can be enjoyed now, but will continue to develop gracefully over the next several years when properly stored.

Production
La Croisette is a single-vineyard cuvée associated with the Côte des Blancs, where chalk-rich soils provide excellent drainage and help preserve Chardonnay’s freshness and mineral precision. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected before gentle pressing and fermentation. Extended lees ageing in bottle contributes to the wine’s fine mousse, creamy texture and layered character, while the Extra Brut dosage keeps the finish crisp and terroir-focused.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled at approximately 8–10°C, allowing it a few minutes in the glass to reveal its full aromatic complexity. It is an excellent match for oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, sushi, scallops and lightly seasoned poultry, while its delicate richness also complements mature hard cheeses. Decanting is not essential, but a short period in a wide Champagne glass can help the wine open; older bottles may benefit from careful pouring to preserve their mousse.

Producer
Founded in 1872, Leclerc Briant is based in Épernay and is recognised for its focused, low-intervention approach to Champagne. The house has become particularly associated with biodynamic viticulture and expressive, terroir-led cuvées that highlight individual vineyards rather than relying solely on a house style. Its wines are prized for their precision, mineral character and elegant balance.
