Description
Le Marchesine Franciacorta Nitens Brut Doppio Magnum is an elegant expression of classic Franciacorta, crafted in Lombardy with Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Noir. Made in the traditional method and offering a refined 12.5% ABV, it stands out for its sophistication, creamy texture, and layered complexity—an excellent example of why Franciacorta has become one of Italy’s most celebrated sparkling wine styles.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, polished appearance with fine, persistent bubbles that hint at its finesse. The nose opens with sweet, expressive aromas of marzipan, open flowers, gorse, and honeysuckle, gradually unfolding into nougat, chopped hazelnuts, spice, and a lively thread of candied ginger and lemon.
On the palate, it is spicy yet soft, with an enveloping mousse and a creamy, refined finish. The wine feels balanced and elegant throughout, delivering both freshness and depth. Its structure and complexity suggest it can continue to develop nicely over time, gaining even more nuance with short to medium-term cellaring.
Production
Produced in Lombardy under the Franciacorta appellation, Nitens Brut is made from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Noir using the traditional method. This approach gives the wine its fine bubbles, creamy texture, and layered aromatic profile, while the region’s cool climate and mineral-rich soils help preserve freshness and precision.
Food & Serving
This Franciacorta pairs beautifully with aperitifs, seafood, shellfish, sushi, light pasta dishes, and delicate white meats. Serve well chilled at 6–8°C to highlight its freshness and finesse. Decanting is not recommended; instead, open it shortly before serving and pour gently to preserve the mousse.
