L'Aventure Cote á Cote 2019

L'Aventure Cote à Cote 2019 is a powerful, Rhône-inspired blend from Paso Robles that captures the depth and finesse of the region’s great southern French wines. Crafted by French-born winemaker Stephan Asseo from estate-grown Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, it combines old-world structure with California ripeness in a highly collected, small-production wine.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark purple core that signals intensity and concentration. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of blueberry, blood orange, violet, black pepper, tar, smoked meat, and spring flowers. The palate is full-bodied and deeply complex, unfolding in stages with remarkable richness, savory nuance, and polished structure. The finish is long and compelling, and the wine has excellent aging potential, comfortably evolving over the next 10 to 15 years.

Production
The wine comes from the estate L'Aventure Vineyard in Paso Robles, where calcareous soils and maritime influences help shape the blend’s freshness, structure, and mineral drive. The low-yielding vines are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before vinification, with the wine aged for 14 months in a mix of one-year-old French oak, new French oak, cement tank, and amphora to balance oak influence, texture, and purity of fruit.

Food & Serving
This is an ideal match for rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled lamb, slow-roasted beef, braised short ribs, game, and herb-crusted pork. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to help the wine fully open up and show its aromatic complexity.
