Description
Laurent-Perrier Brut Cuvée Rosé NV is one of Champagne’s most iconic pink cuvées, renowned for its pure expression of red fruit and unmistakable elegance. Crafted to be both indulgent and gastronomic, it bridges the gap between an aperitif Champagne and a serious food wine with ease. This benchmark rosé, introduced in 1968, helped redefine the style and remains a reference point for rosé Champagne lovers worldwide.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this rosé shows a vibrant, salmon-pink hue with fine, persistent bubbles that form a delicate mousse. The nose is expressive and layered, offering smoky red berries, wild strawberries, pomegranate, blood orange, crisp red apple and a touch of warm brioche or baked biscuits.
On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, broad and vinous, with a refined texture and beautifully integrated mousse. Ripe yet lively acidity gives structure and lift, carrying flavors of red currants, raspberry, citrus zest and subtle spice through to a juicy, lightly phenolic, dry finish that adds grip and gastronomic appeal. While designed to be enjoyed on release, this non-vintage rosé has the concentration and balance to develop further complexity over 3–5 years in bottle, gaining more savoury, biscuity notes over time.
Production
Laurent-Perrier Brut Cuvée Rosé is produced exclusively from Pinot Noir sourced from carefully selected crus in the heart of Champagne, particularly from renowned villages such as Ambonnay, Bouzy, Louvois and Tours-sur-Marne. These cool-climate vineyards, planted on chalk and limestone-rich soils, give the wine its tension, purity and fine mineral backbone. Grapes are harvested by hand to ensure optimal selection of bunches, and whole clusters are gently macerated using the saignée method to extract color and aroma without heaviness or harsh tannins. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve freshness and fruit definition, followed by an extended period of aging on the lees in bottle, which builds texture, complexity and the signature brioche notes before disgorgement and dosage.
Food & Serving
This is a truly food-friendly rosé Champagne, superb alongside dishes such as tuna tartare, grilled prawns, salmon sashimi, charcuterie, roasted poultry, duck breast with red fruit, or even lightly spiced Asian cuisine. It also works beautifully with creamy cheeses and sophisticated canapés. Serve well-chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F) for maximum freshness and precision; if pairing with richer dishes, allowing the wine to warm slightly in the glass can reveal more depth and texture. Decanting is not necessary, but pouring into proper tulip-shaped Champagne glasses rather than narrow flutes will help showcase its aromatics and vinous character.
