Lapis Luna North Coast California Pinot Noir 2023 is a polished, fruit-forward expression of one of California’s most elegant red grape varieties. It combines ripe berry character with floral lift and subtle spice, offering a juicy, supple style that is approachable now while retaining the finesse associated with North Coast Pinot Noir.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a vivid ruby-red colour with attractive purple tones. On the nose, ripe red berries lead the way, complemented by hints of violet, gentle spice and a touch of savoury complexity. The palate is juicy and smooth, with refined tannins, balanced freshness and a rounded, fruit-driven finish. Its supple structure makes it enjoyable in its youth, when the fresh berry character is most expressive. It may develop additional softness and savoury nuance over the next few years, although it is best appreciated as a youthful, vibrant Pinot Noir.

Production
The grapes are carefully destemmed before undergoing a three-day cold soak at approximately 10°C, without pressing, allowing around 20% of the fruit to remain whole. Fermentation begins at 21°C during the first half before the temperature is raised to 32°C for the second half, helping build colour, texture and flavour. Maceration lasts between 12 and 28 days, contributing to the wine’s supple structure and expressive fruit profile.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 14–16°C. This versatile Pinot Noir pairs well with roast chicken, duck, pork tenderloin, mushroom dishes, grilled salmon and soft or semi-aged cheeses. Decanting is not essential, but a brief 20–30 minute airing can help open up its floral and spicy aromas.
