Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass, it opens with classic Islay aromas of peat smoke, sea spray, and a hint of medicinal iodine, layered with vanilla, citrus peel, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is smoky and maritime, with notes of pepper, baked apple, sweet malt, and warming spice, finishing with lingering peat, oak char, and a touch of brine. It can be enjoyed now for its youthful energy and should hold its character well over time once opened, though as a whisky it is intended for immediate enjoyment rather than long cellaring.

Production
Produced on the rugged southern coast of Islay, the whisky reflects its island terroir with maritime influence, cool Atlantic air, and peated malt at the heart of the style. Select Oak is matured in a combination of cask types, including ex-bourbon, quarter casks, and European oak, to build complexity and softness around the distillery’s signature smoke. The result is a carefully blended single malt selected to highlight balance, texture, and layered oak influence.

Food & Serving
Best served neat or with a few drops of water to open up the smoke and sweetness, Select Oak also works well alongside oysters, smoked salmon, charcuterie, strong cheeses, or dark chocolate. Serve at room temperature in a tulip glass for the best aromatic expression, and decanting is not necessary.
