Description
Lamiable Champagne Bankize Doux is a beautifully indulgent expression of Champagne, crafted for those who appreciate a richer, sweeter style without sacrificing finesse. Blending Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, it delivers a generous, fruit-driven profile lifted by Champagne’s trademark freshness. This is a festive, crowd-pleasing bubbly designed to shine both as an aperitif and with dessert.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Bankize Doux shows a bright, inviting golden hue, animated by a fine and persistent stream of bubbles. On the nose, expect an expressive bouquet of ripe orchard fruits—pear, baked apple and white peach—layered with candied citrus peel, acacia honey and a hint of brioche and almond.
The palate is round, creamy and lusciously sweet, yet balanced by a lively acidity that keeps the wine from ever feeling heavy. Flavors of apricot compote, yellow plum and quince jelly mingle with notes of vanilla, nougat and subtle pastry cream. The sweetness is pronounced, in line with the doux style, making it particularly smooth and approachable. This non-vintage Champagne is ready to drink on release and best enjoyed in its youthful, fruit-forward phase over the next few years, when its generous character is at its most vibrant.
Production
Lamiable sources its grapes from carefully tended vineyards in the heart of France’s Champagne region, where chalk and limestone soils bring both tension and elegance to the wines. Chardonnay provides lift and floral finesse, while Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir contribute structure, fruit weight and depth. Grapes are harvested by hand to ensure optimal selection of bunches, then gently pressed to preserve purity and freshness. After primary fermentation, the wines are blended to achieve the house style before undergoing secondary fermentation in bottle following the traditional Champagne method. Extended aging on the lees builds texture and complexity, while a generous dosage is added at disgorgement to create the doux sweetness level that defines Bankize Doux.
Food & Serving
This Champagne’s plush sweetness makes it a natural partner for fruit-forward and creamy desserts—think tarte Tatin, lemon meringue pie, panna cotta with berry coulis or a simple bowl of fresh strawberries and cream. It also works surprisingly well with blue cheeses, foie gras, or lightly spiced Asian dishes, where the sweetness can offset heat and salt. Serve well chilled, ideally around 6–8°C (43–46°F), to highlight its freshness and refine the sweetness. A short, gentle aeration in the glass is sufficient; full decanting is not necessary, but pouring into slightly larger white wine flutes can help open up the aromas.
