Tasting Notes

On the palate, the wine is refined and layered, with firm but polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a core of dark fruit balanced by savory mineral tones and oak complexity. The 2019 vintage has the structure and balance to age beautifully, rewarding patience over the next 10 to 20 years and likely beyond in a good cellar. With time, the fruit will soften and the bouquet should evolve toward more earthy, truffle-like, and cedar-driven complexity.

Lagrange’s vineyards in Saint-Julien benefit from classic Left Bank terroir, with well-drained gravel soils that favor Cabernet Sauvignon while also giving Merlot and Petit Verdot the conditions needed to add depth and complexity. The grapes are typically harvested parcel by parcel at optimal ripeness, then vinified with care to preserve freshness, precision, and varietal character. This is an excellent match for roast lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, game dishes, and richly flavored mushroom-based recipes. It also pairs well with hard, aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas and structure to open fully.
