On the palate, it is poised rather than powerful, with finely grained tannins, bright acidity, and a core of cassis, dark plum, pencil shavings, and mineral complexity. The finish is long and restrained, suggesting excellent cellaring potential and likely further development over many years.

Produced in Pauillac on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, the wine benefits from Lafite Rothschild’s gravelly soils, which provide superb drainage and help Cabernet Sauvignon achieve depth and aromatic precision. The estate is known for meticulous vineyard management and careful harvesting, with grapes typically picked parcel by parcel at optimal ripeness. Vinification is carried out with great attention to detail to preserve freshness, structure, and purity of fruit, followed by aging in French oak barrels that add subtle complexity without overwhelming the wine’s natural elegance.
