Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a healthy dark red hue, already hinting at the wine’s concentration and vitality. The nose is especially expressive, with musky wild red berries, truffle, dried flowers, and a subtle balsamic lift that adds complexity and intrigue. On the palate, it is generous, tactile, and deep, with a sweet core of fruit balanced by big but fine-grained tannins. The finish is very long and refined, showing both freshness and persistence. While it is drinking beautifully now, the structure suggests it should continue to develop well for another 15 to 20 years or more.

Production
Clos des Chênes is one of the more highly regarded sites in Volnay, benefiting from Bourgogne’s classic limestone and marl soils, which lend Pinot Noir its signature balance of perfume and structure. The wine is produced with a focus on preserving the purity of the fruit and the character of the vineyard, with careful harvesting and traditional vinification supporting finesse and longevity.

Food & Serving
This is a beautifully versatile Burgundy for refined dishes such as roast duck, game birds, braised veal, mushroom risotto, or earthy plates featuring truffles and root vegetables. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 30 to 60 minutes if drinking young or if you want to open up the wine’s full aromatic range.
