Description

La Tour Haut-Brion Cru Classé de Graves 2003 is a distinguished Bordeaux from one of the most historic names in Pessac-Léognan. Combining the gravel-driven elegance of the Left Bank with the concentration of a warm vintage, it offers both pedigree and character in the glass.

Tasting Notes
The wine typically shows a deep garnet to brick-tinged color, reflecting its maturity. On the nose, expect evolved aromas of dark plum, cassis, cedar, tobacco leaf, leather, and a subtle earthy minerality that is classic to Graves. On the palate, it is usually medium to full-bodied with softened tannins, layered fruit, and savory notes of graphite, spice, and forest floor. The 2003 vintage can bring a riper, more generous profile than cooler years, while still retaining the refined structure that gives this wine good drinking now and the potential to hold a little longer under ideal cellaring conditions.

Production
Produced in the gravel-rich terroir of Pessac-Léognan, the wine benefits from well-drained soils that encourage deep root growth and contribute to finesse and freshness. Grapes are typically harvested with careful selection, and vinification at a classified-growth estate like La Tour Haut-Brion is aimed at preserving purity, structure, and the distinctive mineral character of the site.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, mushroom dishes, and mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if the bottle is showing youthful reduction or sediment from age.

Producer
La Tour Haut-Brion is part of the legendary Haut-Brion family of estates and carries the heritage of one of Bordeaux’s most respected terroirs. Located in the Graves area of Pessac-Léognan, it has long been recognized for producing wines of refinement and longevity, with a strong reputation among collectors of Left Bank Bordeaux.
