In the glass, the 2014 shows a deep ruby-garnet color with admirable concentration. On the palate, it is structured yet graceful, with finely etched tannins, vivid acidity, and a core of dark fruit framed by mineral, savory, and spicy notes. The finish is long and composed, suggesting excellent cellaring potential. While already showing the hallmark balance of the vintage, this wine will continue to evolve beautifully over many years, gaining further secondary and tertiary complexity with age.

Production
La Mission Haut-Brion comes from the gravelly soils of Graves, where excellent drainage and a warm, well-exposed terroir help produce wines of depth and finesse. The grapes are typically harvested by hand in successive passes to ensure optimal ripeness, then carefully sorted before vinification. Fermentation and aging are carried out with great attention to detail, often in oak barrels, to preserve purity of fruit while adding structure, texture, and complexity.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with classic Bordeaux-style dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, or game with rich sauces. It also works well with truffle-infused dishes, mushroom risotto, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open fully.
