Crafted from the classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, it combines power, richness, and regional character in a style that has made Janasse a benchmark producer.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this wine typically shows a deep, concentrated ruby color with purple reflections. The nose is expressive and layered, bringing ripe dark berries, black cherry, plum, garrigue herbs, pepper, and hints of spice and earth. On the palate, it is generous and densely textured, with ripe fruit, firm structure, and a warm, mineral Rhône backbone. Mourvèdre and Syrah add depth and savory complexity, while Grenache provides plush fruit and roundness. The finish is long and persistent, with excellent potential to develop further complexity over time.

Production
Sourced from the stony, sun-drenched terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the wine benefits from well-drained soils and the warm Mediterranean climate that ripens the grapes fully. Harvest is typically carried out with careful selection to preserve fruit quality, and vinification is designed to balance concentration with elegance, often using traditional Rhône methods and aging in a combination of vats and barrels to integrate structure and aroma.

Ideal with hearty dishes such as roasted lamb, game, beef stew, grilled meats, or rich vegetable dishes with herbs de Provence. Serve at 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to open up the wine’s aromatic depth and soften the tannins.
