La Janasse Cuvée Chaupin Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2021 is a pure, expressive Grenache from one of the Rhône Valley’s most respected estates. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby color with bright, youthful intensity. The nose is classically Grenache-driven, offering red and black cherry, raspberry, Provençal herbs, and subtle spice, with hints of garrigue and earth. On the palate, it is usually supple yet structured, with generous ripe fruit, silky tannins, and a long, savory finish. While approachable in its youth, it should continue to gain complexity with bottle age, developing more dried fruit, leather, and spice over the next 8–15 years depending on storage conditions.

Production
Cuvée Chaupin comes from selected Grenache parcels in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where the soils and sun-drenched Mediterranean climate help produce concentrated, aromatic fruit. The estate is known for careful vineyard work and harvesting at optimal ripeness, often with hand-picking to preserve quality. Vinification is typically geared toward purity and balance, allowing the Grenache character and terroir expression to take center stage.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, herb-crusted beef, game birds, duck, and Mediterranean dishes such as ratatouille or grilled vegetables. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to help open up the aromatics and soften the structure.
