Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby-purple colour with youthful brightness. The nose is expressive and refined, with black cherry, plum, cassis, violet, cedar, and subtle spice notes gradually unfolding in the glass. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with supple Merlot-rich fruit framed by fine tannins and lively freshness. Layers of dark berries, graphite, tobacco, and savoury oak lead to a long, elegant finish. With its balance and structure, it should age gracefully for 8–15 years, developing more complex earthy and truffle-like nuances over time.

La Dominique is located on the prized clay-limestone and clay-gravel soils of Saint-Émilion, a terroir well suited to Merlot and the Cabernet varieties that support it. The vineyard benefits from excellent drainage and a moderating influence from the nearby Dordogne, helping preserve freshness in the fruit. Harvesting is typically carried out parcel by parcel to capture optimal ripeness, followed by careful vinification designed to express precision, concentration, and the character of the vintage.

This Saint-Émilion pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, mushroom dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas and texture to open fully.
