Production
La Clotte’s vineyards sit on the limestone and clay-limestone slopes and terraces just outside the town of Saint-Émilion, a prized terroir that naturally brings tension, freshness and finesse to the wines. The 2020 vintage is a blend of approximately 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, sourced from meticulously tended plots where yields are kept low to ensure concentration and purity of fruit. Harvest is typically carried out by hand, parcel by parcel, allowing for precise selection of optimally ripe grapes. In the cellar, La Clotte is vinified in small lots to respect the character of each parcel, followed by aging in French oak barrels (a portion of which are new) to add subtle spice, structure and texture without overwhelming the fruit. The result is a wine that reflects both its exceptional limestone terroir and a contemporary, detail-focused approach to winemaking.

La Clotte 2020 is a versatile yet refined food partner, ideally suited to classic French cuisine and elegant comfort dishes.
