Tasting Notes
In the glass, Bramasole 2021 shows a deep, intense ruby red with violet highlights, hinting at both concentration and youth. The nose is vibrant and layered: ripe blackberries, dark plums and black cherries are framed by notes of violet, black pepper, licorice and Mediterranean herbs, with subtle touches of cocoa, sweet spice and a faint balsamic edge from oak aging. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet poised, with a silky texture and fine-grained tannins that build gradually and give structure without harshness. Production
Bramasole is produced from Syrah grown on the La Braccesca estate near Cortona, in southeastern Tuscany, an area with well-exposed hillside vineyards, clay- and sand-rich soils and a warm, dry climate moderated by altitude and cooling breezes. This combination allows Syrah to ripen fully while retaining freshness and aromatic lift. Grapes are typically hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and carefully sorted to ensure only the finest bunches are used. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with extended maceration on the skins to extract color, aroma and tannin, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques. The wine then ages in predominantly French oak barrels for many months to refine the tannins and integrate the oak spice before a further period of bottle aging prior to release.

This Tuscan Syrah shines alongside rich, savory dishes: think grilled ribeye or bistecca alla fiorentina, roast lamb with herbs, braised short ribs, game birds, or wild boar ragù. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses like Pecorino Toscano, Parmigiano Reggiano or mature Gouda. For optimal enjoyment, serve at 16–18°C (60–64°F). Decant for 45–60 minutes while young to allow the aromatics and texture to open, and use a large-bowled glass to capture its layered bouquet.
