Kurtatsch Lagrein is a выразive red from Trentino-Alto Adige that shows why this native grape is one of northern Italy’s most distinctive specialties. Produced entirely from Lagrein by Cantina Kurtatsch, it combines floral elegance with deep, fruit-driven character and the unmistakable stamp of its Alpine terroir.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby to dark garnet color, reflecting the natural concentration of Lagrein. The nose is marked by violet and other floral tones, layered with plum, blackberry, and dark berry aromas that give the wine its inviting personality. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-balanced, with a supple fruit texture, good structure, and a smooth, rounded finish. The balance between freshness, ripe fruit, and gentle tannins gives it immediate appeal, while the structure suggests it can develop nicely over the next few years.

Production
This wine comes from Trentino-Alto Adige, where Lagrein thrives in the region’s warm days and cool mountain nights, helping preserve freshness while building ripe flavor. Fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation in large oak casks and aging in large barrels, a method that preserves purity of fruit while adding softness and harmony.

Food & Serving
A natural match for grilled or roasted red meats, game, and mature cheeses, this is also a good choice for hearty Alpine-inspired dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended if you want to open up its aromas and soften the structure.
