First created in 1979, it broke with Champagne tradition by focusing on one plot and one vintage, capturing the pure identity of this iconic terroir in a remarkably refined and historic style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense golden hue that hints at its depth and maturity. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of toffee apple, caramel, ripe citrus, toasted nuts, and the warm, comforting scent of mature wheat. The palate is expansive and generous from the first sip, unfolding with notes of brown sugar, candied ginger, and pecan before giving way to bright citrus fruit and a vivid surge of freshness. The finish is exceptionally long, elegant, and poised, suggesting excellent aging potential and the ability to continue evolving beautifully over time.

Clos du Mesnil comes from a single walled vineyard in the heart of Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of Champagne’s most renowned Chardonnay villages, where the chalk-rich soils contribute precision, freshness, and mineral tension. The fruit is harvested from this exceptional parcel and vinified to preserve the individuality of the site and vintage, resulting in a Champagne that is both highly expressive and unmistakably Krug in its refinement.

Food & Serving
This Champagne pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as lobster, turbot, scallops, poached chicken with cream sauces, truffle risotto, or aged Comté and Parmesan.
