Tasting Notes
The wine appears bright gold with youthful green highlights. Its expressive nose reveals layers of citrus, ripe peach and apricot, complemented by finely detailed mineral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and beautifully complex, balancing generous fruit with vibrant acidity. A long, refreshing finish leaves a persistent mineral impression. With its mature profile and firm Riesling structure, the wine is drinking impressively now and should continue to develop gracefully when well stored.

Production
The Pettenthal vineyard lies near Nierstein in Rheinhessen, a site renowned for its steep slopes and mineral-rich red slate soils. The grapes for this bottling were hand-harvested before being carefully vinified and matured for around 12 months in oak barrels. This combination of low-yielding, site-specific fruit and considered élevage allows the wine to retain Riesling’s freshness while developing greater texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 10–12°C. This mature Riesling is an excellent match for grilled or poached fish, shellfish, lightly seasoned poultry and refined Asian dishes, while its acidity also makes it an elegant aperitif. Decanting is not essential, but 20–30 minutes in a carafe can help open the wine and reveal additional layers of aroma and texture.
