Klaus Peter Keller’s 2015 Hipping Riesling GG is a distinguished Grosses Gewächs from one of Rheinhessen’s most celebrated vineyard sites. Produced from hand-harvested Riesling grown on the steep slopes of the Hipping, it combines remarkable concentration with the precision, freshness and mineral character for which Keller’s wines are renowned.

Tasting Notes
Bright pale yellow in colour with subtle green reflections, this Riesling opens with an expressive bouquet of citrus fruit, ripe peach and apricot, complemented by fine mineral tones and a delicate herbal note. The palate is full-bodied and layered, balancing generous fruit with vibrant acidity and an elegant, refreshing texture. A long, finely mineral finish leaves a lasting impression. Already showing excellent maturity, the 2015 vintage has the structure to develop further in bottle for many years when carefully stored.

Production
The Hipping vineyard is located near Nierstein in Rheinhessen and is known for its steep, sun-exposed slopes and mineral-rich soils, which help produce Rieslings with both depth and distinctive site character. The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected before gentle pressing, allowing the fruit’s freshness and aromatic complexity to be preserved throughout the vinification process.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at around 10–12°C. This Riesling is an excellent match for grilled or poached fish, shellfish, seafood dishes and poultry, while its freshness also makes it an elegant aperitif. Decanting is not essential, but a short decant or generous aeration in the glass can help reveal the wine’s full aromatic complexity, particularly at this stage of its evolution.
