Description

Juan Gil Blue Label 2023 is a bold and polished red from Jumilla, crafted mainly from Monastrell with small additions of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. It combines the region’s sun-drenched intensity with careful selection and oak aging, resulting in a wine that balances power, freshness, and refinement.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red color that hints at its concentration. The nose is expressive and layered, offering ripe blackberry and black cherry aromas alongside spice and a subtle touch of vanilla from oak maturation. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, with generous dark fruit, integrated tannins, and a long, elegant finish. The 2023 vintage already delivers plenty of charm, but it should also develop nicely over the next few years as the structure and oak influence continue to harmonize.

Production
Juan Gil Blue Label is made from hand-harvested grapes, carefully sorted to ensure only the best fruit is used. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve freshness and primary fruit character, followed by 12 months of aging in French and American oak barrels, which adds depth, complexity, and softer tannins.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled meats such as steak, lamb chops, or other richly flavored dishes. It also pairs beautifully with mature cheeses like Manchego or aged cheddar. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended to let the wine खुल fully open up.

Producer
Juan Gil is one of Jumilla’s best-known producers, with a strong reputation for expressive Monastrell-based wines that show both concentration and balance. The winery has become a benchmark in the region, earning international recognition for its quality-focused approach and consistent ability to showcase the character of southeastern Spain.
