Description
Joseph Pascal Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny 2024 is a finely focused Burgundy Chardonnay from one of the Côte de Beaune’s most admired villages. With the precision and mineral drive that define Puligny-Montrachet, this Premier Cru offers elegance, tension, and depth in a style that reflects the area’s long reputation for producing benchmark white wines.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright pale gold hue with a clean, luminous edge. The nose is poised and refined, with notes of citrus blossom, lemon peel, white peach, crushed stone, and subtle toasted almond, all framed by a restrained, mineral freshness.
On the palate, the wine is expected to be precise and layered, combining ripe Chardonnay fruit with vivid acidity and a distinct chalky texture. Flavours of citrus, pear, and delicate stone fruit are complemented by hints of hazelnut and subtle oak spice. It should age gracefully, developing greater complexity and breadth over the next 5–10 years, depending on cellar conditions.
Production
Sourced from the Hameau de Blagny Premier Cru site in Puligny-Montrachet, the wine comes from a terroir known for its elevated position, limestone-rich soils, and naturally fresh expression. These conditions help preserve acidity and bring out the tension and minerality that are characteristic of top Puligny whites. The grapes are harvested by hand, and vinification is typically carried out with careful temperature control and measured oak use to preserve purity, finesse, and site expression.
Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted turbot, lobster, scallops, roast chicken with cream sauce, or aged Comté and other nutty hard cheeses. Serve it at around 10–12°C to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail, and consider a short decant if it is very young to allow the wine to open fully in the glass.

Joseph Pascal is a respected Burgundy producer associated with thoughtful, terroir-driven wines that showcase the character of their appellations.
