Josep Masachs Cava Brut is a classic, approachable sparkling wine from Penedès, crafted by a family with vineyard roots dating back to 1920. Now led by the fourth generation, the estate combines tradition and precision to produce a Cava that balances freshness, texture, and easy-drinking charm.

Tasting Notes
Pale straw in the glass with a lively stream of fine bubbles, this Cava offers an inviting nose of stone fruit, crisp apple, and bright citrus, layered with subtle notes of fresh bread crust and delicate yeast. On the palate, it is soft, rounded, and pleasantly full, with Brut dosage bringing balance to the wine’s naturally vibrant acidity and creating a creamy, supple texture. Its clean, fruit-forward profile makes it immediately enjoyable, while the bottle aging adds just enough complexity to keep it interesting. Best enjoyed young for maximum freshness, though it will hold its character well over the near term.

Production
Made in the Penedès region of Spain, an area long associated with Cava production, Josep Masachs draws on vineyards established by the family nearly a century ago. The wine undergoes traditional bottle fermentation and spends 10 months aging on the lees before disgorgement, which helps build texture and introduces subtle bready, autolytic complexity.

Food & Serving
An excellent match for tapas, salted snacks, fried seafood, light cheeses, and charcuterie. Serve well chilled, ideally around 6–8°C, and no decanting is needed—just open and enjoy while the bubbles are fresh and lively.

Josep Masachs has been a family-run winery in Penedès since 1920, beginning with still wines made for friends and acquaintances before evolving into a respected sparkling wine producer. Today, under the direction of Joan and Alex Masachs, the estate is in its fourth generation and is known for producing a wide range of cuvées with Cava as one of its key specialties.
