Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep golden hue, likely intensified by its long maturation in bottle. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generously textured, balanced by the vibrant acidity characteristic of Mosel Riesling. Sourced from the steep, slate-rich slopes of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard along the Mosel, this Riesling benefits from a cool climate and excellent exposure that help preserve freshness while allowing the grapes to reach high levels of ripeness. Auslese wines are made from selectively harvested, particularly ripe grapes; the Goldkapsel classification denotes an exceptionally distinguished selection. Traditional, gentle vinification allows the fruit, acidity and site character to remain at the centre of the wine.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 10–12°C to reveal the wine’s full aromatic complexity. It is an elegant match for fine fish, shellfish with lightly sweet or aromatic sauces, poultry, mildly spicy Asian cuisine and mature or blue cheeses. Decanting is not essential, but a careful decant may be useful if the bottle has developed sediment; alternatively, stand it upright before opening and pour gently. Allowing the wine a little time in the glass is recommended.
