Joaquin Dall’Isola Campania IGT 2018 is a characterful white wine from the tiny island of Capri, made with a clear mission to revive and celebrate the region’s forgotten viticultural heritage. Crafted by Raffaele Pagano, it stands out for its sense of place, its use of distinctive local Campania grapes, and its fresh, personality-driven style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful golden hue that immediately hints at ripeness and depth. The nose is full of sun-kissed orchard fruit, with aromas of apple, peach, and nectarine lifted by a distinct herbal thread of rosemary, thyme, and sage. On the palate, the wine feels vibrant and textured, balancing ripe fruit with a clean, fresh finish and a delicate mineral edge. It is expressive and polished, with enough structure to make it interesting now and the potential to develop a little more complexity over the short to medium term.

Production
The grapes come from Capri, a small island on the edge of the Bay of Naples, where old vineyards have been carefully restored and replanted with local varieties. Raffaele Pagano focuses on terroirs with strong identity and works with Campania grapes such as Greco, Falanghina, Biancolella, and the rare local Ciunchesa. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by a brief period of aging in tank before bottling to preserve freshness and aromatic purity.

Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for seafood, especially shellfish, grilled fish, or creamy pasta dishes with a marine character. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary; a short period in the glass is enough for it to खुल up beautifully.
