Jean Rijckaert, Bourgogne 2024 White

Jean Rijckaert’s Bourgogne Blanc 2024 expresses the domaine’s precise, terroir-focused approach to white Burgundy. Made by a producer with roots in both the Mâconnais and Jura, it combines Burgundy’s classic freshness with the careful cellar work that has defined Rijckaert since the domaine was founded in 1998.

Tasting Notes
Bright and refreshing, this white Burgundy is expected to show a clean, pale appearance and an aromatic profile centred on fresh orchard fruit, citrus and subtle floral notes. On the palate, lively acidity gives the wine energy and balance, while gentle mineral nuances and a rounded texture add depth. The 2024 vintage is suited to drinking young, when its freshness and fruit character are at their most expressive. It may also develop additional softness and complexity over the short to medium term if carefully stored.

Production
Jean Rijckaert works across the Mâconnais and Jura, with separate cellars located close to the respective vineyards—Mâconnais wines are made in Davayé, while Jura wines are produced in Villette-lès-Arbois. This Bourgogne Blanc benefits from the domaine’s meticulous handling from harvest through bottling, including grapes sourced from selected Burgundy growers as well as fruit from Rijckaert’s own vineyards. Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 9–11°C. Its freshness makes it a natural partner for shellfish, grilled fish and light dishes with cream-based sauces. Decanting is generally unnecessary, although briefly opening the bottle before serving can allow the wine’s aromas to unfold.

Producer
Jean Rijckaert began making wine in the Mâconnais in 1990 and founded Domaine Rijckaert in 1998. His fascination with Jura’s distinctive terroirs led him to acquire vineyards in both southern Burgundy and Arbois, creating a domaine with a distinctive presence across two neighbouring yet contrasting regions. Since meeting Jean in 2013, Florent Rouve has gradually taken over the reins. Trained as an oenologist in Dijon, Rouve shares Rijckaert’s commitment to precise, hands-on winemaking and continues the domaine’s regional, terroir-driven vision.
