Inama Carmenere Riserva Oratorio San Lorenzo 2020

Inama’s Carmenere Riserva Oratorio San Lorenzo 2020 is a refined and characterful red from the Berici Hills in Veneto, made entirely from Carménère and aged with care in barriques. It reflects more than fifty years of family winemaking and a deep understanding of this distinctive terroir, delivering both elegance and intensity in the glass.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep dark ruby colour. The nose is immediate and expressive, opening with delicate notes of blackcurrant, dried grass and blueberry juice, layered with woody berry tones, mountain pine needles, crushed peppercorn and generous cumin, all underpinned by a faint tarry edge. On the palate, it is elegant and beautifully balanced, with a concentrated core wrapped in dense, velvety tannins. The finish is long, spicy and fruit-driven, leaving a savoury impression that lingers well beyond the last sip. It should age gracefully over the coming years, gaining even more complexity and integration.

Production
This 100% Carménère comes from the Berici Hills in Veneto, where Inama has long worked with the local terroir and developed strong expertise in the region. The wine is produced as a Riserva and matured for 18 months in a mix of new and previously used barriques, helping to build structure, depth and aromatic complexity while preserving the grape’s distinct character.

Food & Serving
Serve this wine with roasted lamb, grilled steak, braised beef, game or richly flavoured mushroom dishes. It will also work beautifully with aged cheeses and hearty Mediterranean fare. Best served at around 16–18°C, and decanting for about 1 hour is recommended to allow the aromatics and texture to open fully.
