Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in colour with garnet reflections, this Brunello opens with a traditionally styled bouquet of leather, earthy nuances, dried flowers, crushed cherries, sage and clove. On the palate, vibrant dark-red fruit meets sweet spice and savoury mineral notes, carried by lively acidity and a silky, finely textured mouthfeel. Hints of orange zest add lift to the finish, while fine-grained tannins provide impressive length and structure. Still youthful and tightly wound, the 2016 has excellent ageing potential and should continue to evolve for many years, with further cellaring allowing the tannins to soften and the savoury complexity to deepen.

Production
Made from Sangiovese, the foundation of Brunello di Montalcino, the wine reflects the warm, varied terroir of the Montalcino hills, where elevation and well-drained soils help preserve freshness and aromatic detail. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand before fermentation and extended maturation in large oak vessels, a traditional approach that supports the wine’s structure while allowing the character of the fruit and vintage to remain at the forefront.

Food & Serving
This full-bodied Brunello is an excellent match for Tuscan cuisine, including bistecca alla Fiorentina, slow-cooked beef, wild boar ragù, roast lamb and aged pecorino. Serve at approximately 18°C. Decant for one to two hours when drinking now, particularly while the wine is young, to allow its aromas to open and its tannins to integrate.
