Il Conte Villa Prandone’s Marche Zipolo 2022 is a generous, full-bodied Italian red from the rolling hills of Monteprandone in the province of Ascoli Piceno. Its combination of ripe dark fruit, sweet spice and oak-driven depth makes it an appealing choice for those who enjoy structured, modern-style reds from the Marche region.

Tasting Notes
Deep and richly coloured in the glass, the wine opens with an expressive aroma of plums and blueberries, complemented by vanilla, warm spice and subtle toasted oak. The palate is full and aromatic, with concentrated dark-fruit flavours supported by a rounded texture and well-integrated oak. A long, impressive finish brings peppery spice, vanilla and lingering fruit. The wine is approachable now, but its structure and extended maturation suggest it can develop further over the next few years when stored in a cool, dark cellar.

Production
The estate lies among the beautiful hills of Monteprandone, where gentle breezes from the Adriatic Sea meet cooler air descending from the Sibillini Mountains. This combination creates a healthy, balanced microclimate that encourages even grape ripening. The grapes are gently pressed and undergo a slow 15–25-day fermentation in stainless-steel tanks, followed by 16–24 months of maturation in wooden barrels and a further 12 months of bottle ageing before release.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C, allowing the wine to open fully in the glass. It is well suited to grilled or roasted red meats, slow-cooked beef, game, rich pasta dishes and mature hard cheeses. Decanting for around 30–60 minutes is recommended, particularly when serving the wine young, to soften its oak and reveal more of its dark-fruit character.
