Drawn from a single block straddling two lieux-dits, it captures the finesse, depth, and precision that have made Hubert Lignier one of Morey-Saint-Denis’s benchmark domaines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a refined, luminous ruby hue. The bouquet is expressive and harmonious, unfolding with blackberry, raspberry coulis, wet limestone, and a subtle woodland character that adds depth and nuance. On the palate, this is medium-bodied yet wonderfully concentrated, with fine tannins, supple texture, and remarkable balance. The acidity is beautifully judged, giving the wine clarity, energy, and a long, shimmering finish. While already impressive, it has the structure and pedigree to develop further complexity over time.

Production
The wine comes from old-vine parcels in Morey-Saint-Denis, at the heart of Côte de Nuits, where the estate’s terroirs bring distinct mineral and aromatic signatures. Hubert Lignier practices a restrained, traditional approach in the vineyard, avoiding pesticides and herbicides to preserve healthy soils and fruit purity. Vinification is aimed at expressing site character, producing wines with depth, structure, and precision.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roasted duck, game birds, pigeon, lamb, or earthy mushroom dishes. It also pairs well with tuna, truffle-based recipes, and refined hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if opening young, to allow the wine to раскрыt its aromatic detail and silky texture.

Hubert Lignier is a family domaine with roots dating back to 1880, when Jacques Lignier first acquired vines in Morey-St-Denis. Now led by Hubert and Laurent Lignier, the estate farms around nine hectares across several key Bourgogne appellations, including village, premier cru, and grand cru sites. Known for producing traditional, cellar-worthy wines with remarkable depth and elegance, the domaine has earned a strong reputation in Morey-Saint-Denis and beyond.
