In the glass, the 2019 Haut-Brion shows a deep garnet core with vibrant purple reflections, hinting at both richness and freshness. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet exquisitely refined, with polished tannins, concentrated dark fruit, savory mineral notes, and a long, precise finish. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc gives it both structure and sensuality, and the wine is built for long aging—likely to evolve beautifully over the next two to three decades or more.

Production
Haut-Brion comes from one of Bordeaux’s most distinctive terroirs, located on gravelly soils in Pessac-Léognan that provide excellent drainage and help shape the wine’s signature elegance and aromatic complexity. The 2019 vintage benefited from a warm, balanced growing season, allowing the grapes to reach excellent ripeness while retaining freshness and precision. This is a wine for refined dishes such as grilled ribeye, lamb rack, duck breast, roasted game, or truffle-infused cuisine. It also pairs beautifully with mushroom-based dishes and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and while it can be enjoyed with a modest decant when young, a longer decant is recommended if opening now to help the wine fully express its aromatics and texture.
