Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass, this Chardonnay opens with layered aromas of white pear, lemon meringue, orange blossom, toasted almond, honey, and a distinct crushed-stone minerality. The nose is expressive and refined, with subtle French oak adding warmth and complexity rather than overt weight. On the palate, it is rich yet focused, offering glazed pear, stone fruit, hazelnut, nectarine, honey, and vanilla wrapped around a vibrant mineral core. The finish is long and taut, with flinty notes that linger beautifully. This wine has excellent aging potential and should develop even more nuance over the next several years.

Production
Stone Côte Vineyard sits within the respected Durrell Vineyard in Sonoma Coast AVA, where rocky subsoil forces the vines to dig deep for water, naturally limiting yields and concentrating flavor. The fruit is harvested from this cool-climate site and vinified by winemaker Jeff Stewart, then aged for 17 months in French oak, including 30% new barrels, to add texture, spice, and depth without overpowering the vineyard character.

Food & Serving
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roast chicken, lobster, crab, butter-poached fish, scallops, and creamy pasta dishes, as well as dishes featuring almonds, citrus, or browned butter. Serve slightly chilled at around 10–12°C, and a brief decant is optional but can help open the wine if you’re enjoying it young.
